In partnership with our community, Environment Southland (Southland Regional Council) is responsible for the sustainable management of Southland's natural resources - our land, our water, our air and our coast. As a Regional Council we operate across a large geographical region which extends from Stewart Island to Fiordland.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Advisor Local Government.

This role is within our Strategy & Policy team, and which plays a vital role to ensure the Council meets its statutory obligations under the Local Government Act 2002. Working closely with the Team Leader, you will provide expertise to key statutory processes including the development of the Long-term Plan (LTP), Annual Plan and Annual Report, and policy reviews.

If you have a tertiary qualification in policy, public administration, law, business management or a related field, with proven experience (7+ years) in local government, statutory planning or policy and a strong understanding of the Local Government Act 2002 and related legislative frameworks then you may be the person we are looking for.

An initial offer of remuneration will be made within the range of $102,240. -$107,920.
