Working at Environment Southland
As a regional council our role is to lead and partner with the community to improve Southland’s environment. We play an important co-ordinating role, working with our local councils, government agencies and community organisations to help shape our region for the better.
Southland is the second largest region in New Zealand, covering an area of 34,000km2. The coastal boundary extends 3,100 kilometres from Awarua Point on the West Coast, to Waiparau Head on the fringe of the east coast, and Stewart Island/Rakiura. In all, over half of Southland's land area is public conservation land, while farms occupy 85% of the remaining land.
We’re proud to employ a diverse range of skilled and knowledgeable people in a variety of roles that play an important part in our region’s economic development, provision of infrastructure and environmental guardianship.
We are always on the hunt for talented and dedicated people. If you’re interested in working with us and sharing your skills, take a look at the current opportunities and see if your next move could be with us.
