Team Leader Digital and Channel

We are now seeking an experienced and creative Team Leader, Digital and Channel, to join our Communications and Partnerships team.
This is a fast-paced and rewarding leadership role where no two days are the same. You'll guide a talented team responsible for Environment Southland's digital presence and brand, overseeing everything from social media and website content to publications, design and campaign delivery.
You'll bring ideas to life through engaging, high-quality storytelling that connects Southlanders with their environment and their regional council.
In this role, you'll be:
- Leading the delivery of our digital and channel strategies, ensuring our messages are clear, creative and consistent across all platforms
- Acting as the organisation's brand champion and setting the tone for how we present ourselves to our community
- Supporting and mentoring a collaborative team that thrives on creativity and teamwork
- Overseeing the creation and outstanding digital and non-digital content from videos and graphics to reports and campaigns
- Using insights and analytics to grow reach, engagement and impact
- Building strong relationships across the organisation to support communications that inform, inspire and connect
We're looking for someone with proven experience in digital communications and leadership. A confident storyteller who enjoys turning ideas into impactful content and knows how to get the best out of people.
You'll also understand the importance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and our partnership with Ngāi Tahu ki Murihiku, helping ensure our channels reflect and respect these commitments in all that we do.

An initial offer of remuneration will be made within the range of $109,260. - $115,330.

Working at Environment Southland requires all of our staff to uphold the council's Te Tiriti o Waitangi responsibilities as part of their day-to-day role. This might be through the appropriate delivery of functions through various legislation where Te Tiriti o Waitangi or partnering with mana whenua is required or upholding the commitments that our elected councillors have made to Ngāi Tahu ki Murihiku through the Charter of Understanding.
