It's a big area - Milford Sound to the Catlins, and you need to be comfortable both with working outdoors and driving technology.

Managing river systems is a challenging area and recent events have highlighted how important it is - climate change adds to that challenge.

Our Catchment Strategy & Technical Team works closely with the rural community - while you don't necessarily need to have rural or farming background a practical outlook and an ability to listen and engage with others are attributes we're looking for. Of course, the best part about this job is where you'll be working - Southland, a natural environment second to none.

An initial offer of remuneration will be made within the range of $76,410. - $80,655.
